A message from Rev Catherine:
We have very recently received the Government’s advice, and subsequently that of the C of E, explaining the rules around the re-opening of churches for public worship services, and we also have guidance concerning opening for private prayer. A small group has been formed already to consider comprehensively and in detail how to do this safely in accordance with the newly published rules and guidance. The group meets next on Monday next week.
There will be much to be done in order to manage the risks associated with re-opening of the church building so that all of us can feel as safe as we can be in the present circumstances when we attend church for public worship or private prayer. It is anticipated that before this Sunday (5th July) the PCC will have passed the necessary resolution (as is required by Canon Law) to suspend formally public worship within the church building for a period of time.
We are sorry that we will not be in a position to reopen sooner, but trust that all will appreciate the need for a safety-first and cautious approach in these difficult times.
We will continue with online daily and weekly services, and other activities as per the poster below, and we will update you as soon as we have any more news.
Please continue to stay safe, and please get in touch with questions or prayer requests.
