Easter Services & Activities @ St Andrews!

Easter is just around the corner, and whilst we all know that means chocolate eggs lets not forget it’s an important part of the Church calendar year, the time we remember the sacrifice Jesus made for each of us on the cross.

So to reflect on the events leading up to Easter Sunday we have a full roster of services and activities taking place between Sunday 14th April and Easter Sunday itself, the 21st April.

Please find our full list of services and activities below, all of which are free to attend and open to everyone:

Palm Sunday 14th April
9.30am Holy Communion and Procession of the Palms
Monday 15th April
7pm Compline led by Revd Catherine
Tuesday 16th April
6.30pm Taize Holy Communion led by Revd Lynne
Wednesday 17th April
7pm Stations of the Cross led by Revd Hazel
Thursday 18th April
7pm Maundy Thursday Service with foot-washing led by Revd Lynne
Good Friday 19th April
12.30pm Children’s Stations of the Cross led by Emma and Leanne
Good Friday 19th April
1.45pm ‘The Things He Did’ by Bishop Stephen Cottrell.
Dramatic retelling of the events of Holy Week to the Crucifixion. Led by the St Andrew’s Church Community.
Easter Saturday 20th April
3-4.30pm Easter Eggstravaganza
Easter Story retelling, crafts, games, egg hunt and refreshments
Easter Saturday 20th April
8pm Vigil Service of Holy Communion and an Easter Fire
Easter Sunday 21st April
8am Said Service of Holy Communion
Easter Sunday 21st April
9.30am Easter Sunday Holy Communion (plus eggs for everyone!)

Holy Week – Monday 15th to Thursday 18th inclusive – the Church will also be open for private prayer and prayer station meditation from 12noon to 1pm each day
